We want to hear what you think about Michael Steele and the future of the Republican Party.
Don't forget to watch Hannity and Colmes tonight on Fox News at 9 pm Eastern to see an interview with Michael Steele discussing the RNC and his potential bid for Chairman.

Comments Toward Limbaugh
Mr. Steele,
I've been a Republican and a conservative all my life. I have an advance degree; between my wife and myself we earn 6 figures annually (less than $200,000). We have supported the Republican Party financially and at the voting booth without exception. I have never written anything to any Republican leader, but I feel I now must voice my opinion.
Yes, Mr. Limbaugh can be a blow-hard, yes, he is an entertainer, but let there be no mistake, the foundational views he champions are legitimate conservative ideology. Don't underestimate his influence in these days where the Republican Party has lost its voice and it's identity.
What I see is that you and other leaders in the RNC are trying to move the party further to the left. Please stop. What's needed is a clarification of the conservative Republican platform, as well as the right voices with the proper character and integrity to sound the clarion call and we will follow. The answer is not to become more like the Democrats, but rather a clear distinguishing movement that challenges far left, liberal ideology and politics.
In addition, attacking Polosi and Reed as the architects of the bailout and not calling this popular president to task on signing off on this monstrosity is just playing politics. Who cares what the Democrats will say if you challenge the President. If the buck stops at his office, it's his bailout plan. Take him to task. If you don't you will further separate yourself from your conservative base.
THE AMERICAN FLAG "I REFUSE TO DIE"
I feel we must stay true to the Flag - that is a symbol of what our country is all about. I wrote this poem in honor of all the brave soldiers (men and women) who gave their life for what it stands for and for all the people of the United States that loves our Flag.
THE AMERICAN FLAG "I REFUSE TO DIE"
Today our Flag speaks out loud and clear
To each of us -- that holds it so dear
I am your Flag -- that waves proud and high
and because of you "I refuse to die"
I stand for liberty-rights and freedom of speech
and I will speak out - to all I can reach
I stand for equality-justice and every man's rights
and "I refuse to die" -no matter how long the fight
I refuse to give up - and will not give in
I will keep us free-and we will win
I have waved proudly over our land
and "I refuse to die" - under any man's hand
I am far more - than just cloth and thread
I stand for freedom- that so many dread
I have stayed stong in times of peace and war
and "I refuse to die" -no matter what's in store
For the men and women who have valiantly died
For the pain they suffered and the tears they cried
I drape myself-gently upon them - when they are laid to rest
And "I refuse to die" - in memory of the ones who gave their best
There are those who spit, burn and trample on me
But I will stay strong to keep America free
I will not be shamed - torn down -nor fold in fright
I will fly with honor, dignity and pride, for all that is right
WE NEED MICHAEL STEELE TO KEEP THIS COUNTRY FREE
Michael Steele is our hope for this nation! If anyone can give us hope, encouragement, and a sense that our country will survive the slaughter of our Constitution -- it is Michael Steele.
Please Mr. Steele, get out among the American people and tell it like it is. You are the hope of the Republican party. Granted, we need both political parties to keep a balance in our government -- however -- what has happened with this election and Obama taking over with his "supreme
attitude" it does not fall to short of dictatorship.
YOU are what our country needs -- again, please become very visible to the people of the United States. We all need to see what a true and honest politician is all about.
SUPPORT MICHAEL STEELE!!
The Quiet Revolution
THE QUIET REVOLUTION OF MAIN STREET AMERICA
There is no people as vibrant, dynamic, and glorious as the people of the United States of America. We are extraordinary, with a depth of ingenuity, character, strength and brilliance that is unparelled. Our passion, our energy, our willingness to risk, to stretch our minds and our capabilities builds the foundation of our living as Americans.
It is not exaggeration to say that we as Amercans are under seige. It is not whimsical to state we are in moral crisis. And it is not from without but from within that we face our gravest threats. This is a domestic issue, virulent, and dangerous, and we have become complacent, and seemingly unaware of just how real and true this danger is.
We all need to take a moment. To stand still for a brief interlude, even as we stand vigilant. Take this time, and see clearly, something we have not done as a people in the past seven years. Go find a quiet place, and take the words of Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, James Madison, Ronald Reagan, with you. Read Pericles, Marcus Aurelius, Thomas Paine, Thomas Aquinas. Look to your own core, and find those wonderful words we do not utter outloud anymore. Honor, steadfastness, fortitude, perseverance. Let them roll off your tongue and feel the power and the strength of them.
Taking away of civil rights, besmearching of our Constitution, our Bill of Rights, is incremental and insidious. America’s domestic foes have patience, and our own complacency on their side. We must listen, we must act, but most of all we must think for ourselves, and not allow our teacher unions, our college professors, our media, our politicians to tell us how to think. We are the best minds and souls of this world, we have the best of all races of humankind in this country. We are robust believers in the goodness and decency of people. Our country was built on these principles. Life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness. Freedom, and the responsibilities each of these words holds.
We believe in personal responsibility. Of owning our own lives and how we choose to live those lives. We fight fiercely for our liberty, and dare anyone to take it from us. And we pursue our own ability to achieve happiness with the sweat and blood and hope and dreams it demands.
The challenge –take back these fundamentals, these strong and true concepts America was built on. How? By every single day living to your own truth, with the goal- when you lie your head on your pillow each night , to say and affirm I did the best I could, I lived my beliefs, I did no harm, and I bettered the lives of others and myself. Each small decision will empower you to make the big decisions. Take back our country, do not allow it to be chipped away into a shadow of its own greatness.
Read the great writers who contributed to the ideals and standards this country was built on. Think clearly before deciding, determine by your own will, and not how others tell you to think, to believe. Hear what is being said, weigh the words, look behind them, ponder. Make a clear stand by being proud of who you are. Cherish our rights.
Less government, less invasion into our daily lives. Taxes solely for what a republic determines are for the common good. Do not allow others to tell you what to think, how to determine what is best for you and yours. Decide for yourself. Take our country back. Back to basics, back to fundamentals. Remember why we became our own country in the first place. Too much taxation, and a disdain for what would become the American spirit. Do not allow our country to be socialized, relying on the government for sustenance, and guidance in our daily thoughts and actions, this is so contrary to what being American is.
The Quiet Revolution: do not wait for buttons and banners. Hand make a small sign, post it in your rear left window of your car, on the doors of your home. Fly the flag with pride in front of your home. And boldly say no. No to the teacher who tells our children how to think, but not of our beginnings. No to the college professor who uses his grades to get his philosophy spouted by our young adults, no to the media, by not buying their newspapers, their magazines, not watching their biased diatribes nightly, no to those who simply earn livings as actors, and have no right to tell us what is right and wrong. No to socialism, by demanding strong adherence to our Constitution and our Bill of Rights. Yes to life, yes to optimism, yes to this being the strongest most vibrant most alive and resilient country in the world. Yes to personal responsibility, and most importantly, if you want the American Dream, then roll up your sleeves, persevere and work to the best of your abilities to achieve it.
Be strong , be forthright, be steadfast. God, Country, and Family. Liberty. God bless America.
TQR live it, be it, and it will be.
CONGRAGULATIONS
I am so glad you won. I hope you remember one thing with GOD on your side you can not fail. I will pray for you.
Congratulations
I have been watching you on Fox for quite a while now, I respect your attitude and the way you present youself. I am so relieved you were elected. We really need your steadfast leadership.
I believe we should make use of all media to reach the younger generation and, as you stated, call on our diverse membership. Republicans are generally quiet about their beliefs, not finding it necessary to shout it out. After all who needs to scream about how sane they are?
I would like to see a movement to inform America of the dangers of a one-party government. We are a Republic and we are being called to defend our beliefs, not dilute them because they are not popular with liberal media. I believe you are the one that will help us regain the cohesion we have had in the past. What we do need are strong, intelligent leaders that are willing to stand up for the American people as one people, the demographics game is a way to divide the people. We are Americans First. I am willing to speak out, to assist, to do my part. I can email, blog, send letters, it is time we all took a stand together or we will fall and fail together. I want my grand children and my 2 great-grand children who will be born this year to have the country I have had.
Optimism
I'm Really excited about our new RNC chairman. I watched Fox news and felt true, positive sincerity. I don't know anything about Michael Steele but am excited about what I heard today.
We desperately need to pull this party together and I pray that The Republican Senators stick together on the senate stimulative vote next week and vote no if the pork stays in the bill.Tax cuts is the key.
Thank You..
Rodney
Congratulations!
Dear Michael,
Congratulations! Make us proud! We need strong leadership in the Republican party so we can take back our future.
The way forward
As a long time Republican and a staunch McCain supporter, it was disappointing and disheartening to witness this interminable campaign as it vanquished an experienced candidate who possessed all of the personal qualities that we should value -character, honesty, integrity - as well as the political chops needed, to lead the greatest country in the world. Please please stop saying that he "wasn't conservative enough"! McCain has a long and unblemished record of fiscal conservatism and those values the GOP has stood for - but because he reached across the aisle (what you are SUPPOSED to do to get things done) and addressed unpopular issues like campaign finance reform (it is unconscionable the amount of money that is wasted) and immigration reform - at least he had the courage to try to find solutions - he was made a pariah by the ultra right wing of his own party. With friends like he has, etc. They should wake up and smell the coffee. He did indeed put his country first and look what he got for his efforts. We didn't lose because he wasn't conservative enough! We lost because of three things - MONEY, MEDIA, ORGANIZATION. Without those three in abundance, you cannot articulate a message. The Dems had it all. THEY got their message (hope and change and 8 years of failed Bush policies)across with plenty of money to buy their constituency and a media more than willing to aid and abet them in their quest. All the stars lined up for the "one" when the economy tanked and then my hero, McCain, had no chances left. Still, he got 57 million votes!! What does that tell us? The country wants to be Center Right... and it says he was doing something right. I will admit that it was most frustrating watching his disorganized campaign strategy and him NOT being true to himself. Then the Palin pick which did him more harm than good. She may have solidified the religious right base, but they would have voted for him anyway. She lost him independents, moderates, and fence sitters. She blew away the theory of readiness that could have been used against BO. If she is the future of the party, after 40 years as a Republican, I will re-register as an Independent. Although I think she is terrific in many ways, as far as she goes, the problem is she doesn't go that far. We need someone ARTICULATE, educated and energetic to find our voice in the future. We need to recognize that our party needs new blood and new faces and multi generational support.
Separation of church and state - we cannot continue to impose our own individual religious beliefs on others. That is not what the founding fathers had in mind. The freedom to worship also guarantees the freedom NOT to worship if that is what an individual chooses. Stay with fiscal conservatism and strong constitutional/capitalism, free markets and individualism - but open up the party to more and more voters of all different social and religious beliefs or there will be no more GOP. Michael Steele guide us to that NRP, so that all of us out here can feel franchised and hopeful once again. The way forward is through those 3 things - money, media and organization, but also in recognizing that we need to incorporate moderation and tolerance for other values systems in allowing ourselves to GROW. Let's start now.
Mike Steele
I can't stand when people tell me I shouldn't be a Republican because I am not white.
I think electing Lt Gov Steele would not only shut them up, but would also attract minority and younger voters. If you do the research and look at his work, it's clear he's the man for the job.

Obama selects vocal pro-abortion leader as Communications Director --
Ellen Moran, executive director of EMILY’s List, was named Saturday, November 22, White House communications director.
Moran currently serves as executive director of EMILY’s List, where she oversees the national staff and charts the overall strategic direction of the organization.
For a candidate to be considered for funding from EMILY’s List there are three requirements: The candidate must be a woman; she must be a Democrat; and she must support unrestricted access to taxpayer-funded abortion-on-demand.
The List’s support for abortion-on-demand is so strong that it has cut funding from politicians who voted against extreme pro-abortion positions. Two examples of this are Senators Mary Landrieu from Louisiana and Blanche Lincoln from Arkansas who lost funding from EMILY’s List when they voted to ban the gruesome practice of partial-birth abortion.

Run Michael Run!!!
I have been following Michael Steele since I heard him speak at the Convention several years back. Talk about an inspiration! I am so glad others are noticing this fine man. I really think he can get us back on our feet! I love the "Run Michael Run". I will share this site with everyone that I know.
The Conservative Movement and Michael Steele
As a conservative first and Republican second, it is time for the Republican Party to go back to the core conservative approach that defined us during the Reagan and Contract with America eras. In my opinion, our party leaders, senators and congressman have abandon these core principles in order to try play to a wider moderate to liberal audience. As we all saw last month, that doesn't work.
Although I voted straight Republican, I looked at John McCain and felt as though I was voting for a liberal Republican who held to many policy positions which mirrored Democratic philosophies. This feeling also holds true for many of the Republican senators and congressman who ran in this cycle. If my assessment is even somewhat correct, how did we differentiate ourselves from the Democrats? The answer is we didn't and thus we lost.
The time is now, not next week or next year to start identifying and promoting the next generation of truly conservative Republican candidates for the 2010 cycle. We need to reaffirm to the American people and conservative base that we are now going to return to core conservative principles and it will be these principles that lead us to victory moving forward.
How do we do this?
1. It's time for new leadership at the RNC. While I appreciate the efforts of Mike Duncan, it’s obvious that a new approach is needed. I support Michael Steele!
2. Make it perfectly clear to those Republican's currently in office to get on board with a conservative governing approach or make way for those who will govern according to conservative principles. That includes you Sen. Spector among others.
3. Stop our current representatives from negotiating with and/or voting for liberal back/biased legislation that goes against core principles. This means not voting for pork barrel projects, not voting for spending increases without reciprocating spending cuts elsewhere, voting for balanced budget initiatives, voting for secure boarders not amnesty plans etc.
4. Start identifying and vetting a younger generation of conservative candidates that will hold to core principles and begin lifting the image of the GOP as an old man party.
5. Start campaigning today for 2010 and beyond by holding local meet and greets for potential candidates.
6. Do a much better job of Internet marketing/message conveyance for our candidates. The Democrat’s kick our back sides in this regard.
7. Start comprehensive brand awareness toward minority voters. We need to reverse the trend of African American and Latino voters who vote Democratic yet hold many core conservative beliefs.
8. Get more awareness programs started on liberal college campuses. (I guess that means just about every campus in the country.) I am sure there is some type of presence but we need to stop the wave of liberal indoctrination among the newest set of voters.
9. Identify core sub-set constituency groups (racing fans, golf fans etc.) and have a marketing presence at these events promoting conservative messages, candidates etc.
10. Start holding the media accountable for their partisan politics. Our representatives and candidates need to be much more aggressive at calling these individual/media outlets out for what they really are, Democratic sympathizers, and not non-partisan commentators.
11. Stop playing fair and start playing by the Democrat’s playbook by when it comes to voter registration etc. I am not saying to cheat or perform illegal acts such as the Democratic sponsored groups like ACRON do but we need to start getting in the mud and not be afraid of mixing it up. The Republican Party has been way too passive for way to long when it comes to hard line political approaches. Let’s get on the offensive and not play defense.
12. Start having the RNC sponsor roundtable discussions and strategy sessions with Republican’s not currently on the inside of the RNC. Let’s get new thoughts and ideas from outside the inner sanctum and not repackage the same strategies/ideas that have currently failed us.
These are just some of the many ideas floating in my head as I write this letter. I am sure there are many conservative supporters across the country who have ideas better than mine. I challenge you to get involved, put pen to paper and submit your ideas. The time is now to start the grassroots effort to bring conservatism and the Republican Party back to prominence. “Hope” and “Change” is not what this country needs and it is certainly not going to make America a better place. It’s standing up for “Core Conservatism” and Reagan principals that will get it done.
Yours in Conservatism,
Mark M.

Communication 101
I really feel the biggest issue facing us as Republicans is the perception that we are a party of greed and selfishness. We need to communicate that we are a party that believes in helping yourself to achieve, and giving generously to those in need. The distinction between parties is that we feel that you don't give unconditionally , and you don't take unconditionally either. We need to better address who we are, and not what the media and the Democrats try to portray us as. That is why Michael Steele is so important to us. Unfortunately, Newt Gingrich is not the perception we need to continue..We need fresh and forward thinking, like Mr. Steele.
He's The ONE!!!
We are so proud of Mike Steele here in Maryland. He is the face and the voice of the future of the Republican Party. His presence at the helm of the GOP will offer him a great opportunity to reach out to America with a new GOP voice. As a 30s something republican, our party does not need to change its values, just do a better and more positive job of explaining them. He can do it!

Michael Steele can energize the Republican Party!
Thank you, Mr. Steele, for coming to our rescue! We need your energy and expertise to bring the Republican Party back to a mighty force. We are allowing the Liberals to bring us down. Major changes need to be accomplished in the Party and affective strategies need to be put into place during campaigns. I for one, felt the Republican party lacked clear definition and clarity during the recent campaign. I felt we were lost in combating negative issues which was a waste of time. I feel we could have done better with focusing exclusively on the issues and clearly defining the plans and how they would be implemented. The Republican Party needs to become stronger more than ever and I believe you are "the one" that can do it.

Palin & Steele 2012
Yes... Michael Steele for RNC Chairman. And...
My dream ticket is for Gov. Sarah Palin and Chairman Michael Steele to make positive USA history in 2012 and 2016 as President and Vice-President.
They will make history as a TEAM in the same way that President Ronald Reagan made history as an American who knew American and world economic and social history when he said, "government is NOT the solution to the problem, government IS the problem."
Michael Steele will also make USA history in 2020 as the first black president who is NOT a progressive / liberal / communitarian(ist) / collective(ist) / social(ist) / commune(ist) / marx(ist) and whatever(ist) comes down the pike by ideologues who do NOT believe that America must remain an individual(ist) / pay-as-you-go / free market / private property ownership country.
To quote Rush Limbaugh, "America is not the problem, America is the solution" to freedom, peace and safety around the world.
A Palin/Steele ticket is a winner.

Same here, either way is a winner. We need to get back to the basics of the GOP and Steele and Palin get it.
palin/steele or steele/palin
Either way makes no difference. I would just as soon see Michael as president as vice president. These two are equal in my eyes. I just hope that when it comes to being in a presidential primary against each other they don't hurt each other. Which ever one wins the nomination I would hope they would pick the other as vice president.
Michael Steele for President and Sarah Palin for VP
I TOTALLY AGREE!! They are the best in the US and hopefully they run in 2012. Michael Steele for President and Palin for VP!!!! Couldn't get any better than this!! Spread the word everyone.
Michael is The Future of the GOP
I feel that the GOP needs to reevaluate itself in the coming years. I have some ideas to get this party on the right track after Obama makes our economy even worse. We need to make the sacrifices now for the future of our great nation. I feel that everyone needs to work and we have too much stuff in this nation that needs to be done for people to sit on their rears. I have an idea that can lift the economy while providing for social functions that would take it out of the fed's hands and give more money back to the people
SHOW MICHAEL YOUR SUPPORT!
I think Michael Steele would make a great Chairman, and would do a lot to bring conservatism back to the Republican party. It sends a message that the party doesn’t accept the election's results as a referendum in favor of liberalism, by showing trust in a man who has proven himself to be a true conservative.
Lt. Governor wasn’t Steele’s first job, he has a clue. This man has wit, intellect, and savvy. There’s no way a position like this will be “over his head”.
It means absolutely nothing to me that he’s black. It means everything to me that he has displayed outstanding character, integrity, and honor, characteristics missing among the RINOs and other moderate Republicans.
This man ran a great campaign in MARYLAND, of all places. He’s fearless regarding his politics. If he knows he has support, there should never be a reason for him to back down.
Steele can have a strong positive impact on the national party, at the time it is needed most.
Please consider Michael Steele for the Chairman of the Republican Party and sign the petition showing him your support.
Michael seems to have the
Michael seems to have the backbone that we need in the party right now. During the last campaign we ran with our tails between our legs anytime the other party said "Boo" about anything. We could have stuck up for our president just a little bit instead of running away all the time. After all he has kept us safe during his time in office - at least McCain could have mentioned that. Sarah had the courage to do it - With a team like Sarah and Michael we would be going in the "right" direction. It's about time.....
Just what we need-
This is what we need...Finally, someone that can speak with meaning to the masses in a tone that resonates and is not threatening. A conservative that has an acumen for message delivery that can get our message out without being twisted by the other side, one that isnt easily rattled by the radical questioneers and their trap laden interviews, one that can speak factually and thoughtfully while gleaning a genuine million dollar smile that cant makes even the most irrational viewer, interviewer, or listener pause for a moment and realize we conservatives are not these mean spirited caricatures we are often portrayed to be. I cried on election out of fear for the future of our country under Obama. Two weeks post election, after a deluge of news of the forboding time to come, I shed another tear--when I heard the news on WBAL that Mr. Steele was going to run for chairman of the GOP---this time in thanks that we have not been forgotten and that amid a tide where I felt hopeless and helpless--- there is hope...we do have a voice...and we all need to help this happen.
consolation
Dear Anonymous
Many of us shed a tear.
I read one moving comment by a woman who said it was like when her mother died...Waking up in the morning and remembering that something irreparably bad had happened...the sense of unreality.
Maybe this is not irreparable.
A Rising Star
I have watched Michael Steele, along with conservative Amy Holmes, for a couple of years now -- to me they are rising stars of the conservative movement of our party. During the campaign I heard a tirade of negative things said about both of them, from African Americans on the left -- who were blogging on conservative blogs!!!! I was shocked at the horrible namecalling from the Left, by people of all races. I was also called many names by the same, and told 'go back to Mexico' and 'I'm reporting you to INS because you're an illegal alien.' etc. I was called 'stupid', 'unitelligent', amongst other things -- because I espouse the conservative agenda! I am a single mom of two young children, a full-time physician, of Latin heritage, speak many languages and go to Mass most Sundays, and I AM an American citizen. Somehow, the many liberals think these qualities don't conform to the GOP image. I firmly believe that Michael Steele can help shatter the stereotype that the GOP is for 'old white guys.' I admire Steele because of his conservative upbringing, Catholic school and Seminary education, pro-life, low taxes viewpoints. I love that he has a humble and pleasant disposistion -- even when discussing tough issues. When I describe myself I say "If I were a piece of bread, I'd be multi-grain." That's how I see Michael Steele. I think he will bring substance, grit, texture and taste back to the GOP!!!
The Future of the RNC
We need people to lead the party who are not afraid to stand up for our values. The same values that most of the nation holds dear as well. It's shameful that some of our leaders are so afriad of being called names that they shrink behind apologies for something they didn't do or cause. This election was lost because many of the voters were dazzled by the Democrats B.S. and their flagrant use of the race card time and time again.
I've watched Mr Steele for 4 years now and record him everytime he is on H&C. I had the chance to hear him do Hugh Hewitt's radio show one evening and he was great. He is a patriotic American who understands our exceptionalism as a free country and will fight to preserve that which sets us apart from the rest of the world's governments. He understands the USA is not the problem but the solution.
One suggestion: Host a Michael Steele party to introduce him to other conservatives/Republicans and garner their support for Michael Steele. We need to tell our elected officials at all levels and all levels of the RNC that we, the voters support Michael Steele as the new RNC Chair. After all it is our party too!
Steele, baby, Steele!!

We need You!
I have been seeing you for the first time during this election and every time I heard you speak I was impressed. You speak in a down to earth way that everyone understands and you make sense. I feel you speak from the heart. I am so excited that you will hopefully be are new RNC chairman. I will be one of your helpers in Florida.

Thank You!
The GOP needs a man like Michael Steele leading our way. To those of you who say its about race, you are wrong. It is about character, integrity, and honesty. I believe that this is where the country got it wrong this election. I would vote for an African American, but not the one who has been chosen to be our president in this election. Michael Steele would get my vote for president and I HOPE that he becomes the new leader of our party so he can actually CHANGE what has gone wrong. He is the right man for this job. We need someone to remind our leaders in Washington who have lost their way that they represent many hard working, christian people who sent them their to speak up for our values and beliefs. This is a man who I have listened to many a night on various shows say all the things I wish I could say to people like Alan Colmes! He gives me the ability to unmute my television. I like what he has to say, he speaks out for those of us who cant do so in that arena and he has my support. We are pulling for him and if there is anything I can do here in Texas I would be happy to help. K Crouch, Texarkana, TX.
Mr. Steele
I am so glad that their is someone like you that is willing to step up to the plate. The republican party needs to go back to its traditional values, to the values that made the republicans so great. I am pleased to know that you are a conservative. I like you to know that you have my support. Thank you for running.
Go Michael Go!
Dear Michael Steele, I am a former Dem, now McCain/Palin voter who thought you were fantastic at the Republican convention and I would love to see you head up the RNC to bring it into the 21st century. There are many disenfranchised moderate (former) Dems who have nowhere to go, as our former party no longer wants us. This is a golden opportunity to bring fresh and vigorous blood of every age, race, gender, and socio-economic background into a party that will lead our great country with strength and purpose.
I thought your "Drill, baby, Drill" line at the convention was inspired! I wish you the best and hope you achieve this honor.
RNC CHAIRMAN
THANK GOD FOR MICHAEL STEELE. I WISH THERE WERE MORE REPUBLICAN'S LIKE HIM THAT WOULD SPEAK UP. THE VOTER'S VOICES SEEM LIMITED, AND NOW MORE SO WITH THE VOTER FRAUD THE LIBERALS ARE INCURRING IN THIS ELECTION. WE TRULY HOPE YOU BECOME OUR CHAIRMAN BECAUSE WE HAVE FAITH IN YOU AS WELL AS FEEL STRONG WHEN WE HAVE A STRONG LEADER. LOVE YA, DIANE
michael steele for RNC
Michale Steele gave one of the best speeches at the Republican Convention this year. He has a natural presence in front of cameras and would be a great, fresh face for the republican party.
Yes to Michael Steele!
Michael is my top pick for RNC Chair! He is fresh and witty and above all is true to his convictions! I have complete convidence thar Mr. Steele has the conservative's best interest at heart.
You're a refreshing voice!
Dear Michael,
Since the election, I've been pretty discouraged. With the rapid move toward socialism, voter fraud, liberal judges, the Fairness Doctrine...I began to wonder if the conservatives will still have a voice in this country. I heard your interview on Sean Hannity's radio show. I was so inspired! We need strong conservative leadership to fight the current threat to our freedoms from every side. Thank you for stepping up!

Religious Right is Wrong for the Party
I want to get behind Michael Steele because people I respect are excited about him. But without knowing very much about him, I did learn last night on Hannity and Colmes that he doesn't support abortion nor gay marriage. I really have a problem with the Republicans insisting upon catering to the desire of those who want government to be even MORE intrusive, not just picking our pockets but peeking into our bedrooms. Steele's willingness to go there has me invisioning the whole Palin fiasco all over again in 2012. Will this party never learn - the youth and urban vote is out there for us, but we've got to stop alienating them. When are we going to learn to agree to disagree on these matters for the sake of national security and the future of capitalism?
Rubbish!
Moral Values ring a bell ding bat --- Those are the very reasons I voted Republican. I am a Democrat (not for long!!). I don't really care about someone's sexual preference (but don't really think I want ones who hire gay prostitutes running the country either - anyone come to mind???) I don't respect straight men who hire prostitutes either. Or men who have "inappropriate relations" with their younger interns. Please, give me a clue how anyone could "support abortion". What's up with that! I support family. I support my children. I support moral values. I even support my pets. I don't call it "intrusive government" when (1) defending the definition of marriage as between a man and a woman or (2) defending the rights of an unborn child. Birth control has been around a long time, and is very readily available and free. Not rocket science stuff. And yes, I'm fully aware there are instances where abortion should maybe be an option. So don't even go there. My Grandmother was raped at the age of 15. Thank God (wow-I'll bet that offends you) abortion wasn't so readily available at that time. I can assure you I wouldn't be here and I would't have had the "support" from my mother for the 69 years she had here on this earth. I'm quite willing to agree to disagree but it's a two way street.
How to win next time.
This is an email I sent to about fifty people concerning how to win next time. I received 32 positive replies and two negative. I just wish there was some way to get this message to Steele.
HOW TO WIN NEXT TIME!
Please read. This is a serious email! I know we are all disappointed with the outcome of the election. It has been an intense few months for those of us who had a hard time figuring out how so many people could vote for such a liar as was chosen. I’m also sure you know most of those lies he told, but the worst lie he told that gave him such a huge advantage was when he agreed to use public financing for his campaign, then someone talked him into changing his mind, likely by the offer of some really BIG donations.
The result of that lie was for him to receive millions upon millions of dollars of unknown origin. It would be my bet that one heck of a lot of that money was illegal if it could be proven. However, with him and his campaign being cheats and liars to the Nth degree, McCain, by being true to his word to accept public financing was at a huge disadvantage monetarily.
If we are to change things, we need an entire new plan and never ever allow our candidates in the future to accept the limit of 80 million in public financing. But, how do we raise the money to match and even exceed the money available to national and state candidates? And, you might ask, “Well, state candidates don’t have the choice of accepting public funds anyway, so how can they benefit from a new plan also?”
The answer is so very simple, I don’t why I didn’t come up with this idea sooner. I suppose it is because after having listened to all the post election rhetoric and comments by the pundits, it seems to me that money was the biggest factor. Unfortunate, but true. So, how do we put more money into the hands of our candidates in the future? Let me ask you this: Could you afford, beginning right now to send the RNC five dollars a month? Maybe ten dollars? Just check these figures – If one million people sent the RNC $5 a month for the next four years that would amount to 5 million a month! That is 60 million a year, or 240 million in the next four years. If two million people signed on to send $5 a month that would be 480 million in four years. With four million people signing on to just $5 a month, $960 million in four years!!!
Hussein spent approximately 650 million on his campaign, so you see from the above, we would be able to spend well over that for the next campaign for the presidency. What if all these people or a majority signed on for $10 a month? Now, not only could we supply a huge amount of money for the presidential campaign, but a large amount of money for state candidates for the US senate and house. We could even supply funds to people running for major statewide offices, such as governor or secretary of state etc.
As I said, it is unfortunately that people buy there way into office, and another aspect of this is the question; to whom do they owe their loyalty? Do they owe it to the lobbyists who raise untold millions for their campaign? With my plan, they would owe their allegiance to WE THE PEOPLE!!! And, they know we could cut this major money off if they do not prove this allegiance!
If you add all the money we could raise to what local and state republican parties, we would have a winner. Another thing we should do right now is create a website and list all the candidates we might possibly choose next election and have everyone who contributes their five or ten dollars a month choose their preference. I know there are likely many, many more things we could start doing right now, but the above would definitely give us a huge advantage in the future. We need to do something drastic like this to rejuvenate the party and set it on the right track to some big wins!
This money would be held in a separate RNC account, untouchable for any other purpose than to help finance state elections and to finance the next presidential campaign.
Please pass this email on and I would very much like your opinion of the idea and if you would be willing to contribute each month. If you feel you would like to contribute more each month, let me know that also. Send your thoughts to me at writebill@satx.rr.com Thanks for reading this long email.

PASS IT ON
The Republican Party
As someone who has voted Republican in recent years I did not this time. If the Republican party is going to appeal to the youth and other groups they have to speak to the needs of the people and have real solutions. It isn't advantageous to start a cultural war or to use demonizing tactics. We are all Americans. God Bless you Michael Steele
Michael Steele is the right man for the job!
After suffering through McCain's horribly run campaign with his stupid senatorial geniality and pandering to the left, we need a man like Michael Steele to articulate our core conservative ideas to America. With him at the helm I believe we can take back the senate and house in 2010 and win back the WH in 2012.
We can never win by moving left. McCain proved that.

We Need This New Leadership
It would be FABULOUS if Michael Steele won the RNC Top spot. I jumped out of my chair when I heard he is seeking the position! He is smart, classy, politically savvy, and handsome, too! Mr. Steele has the pulse of Americana, and appeals to us regular Americans. He has my 100% support.
I’m a 51 year old fiscal conservative professional woman who is sick and tired of seeing our GOP stoop to liberal practices. Our party has been hijacked by loons who want to pad their pockets with the same pork-barrel spending garbage we know the Dems love to do. That is why we lost the Executive branch and lost more ground in the Legislative branch this election. Enough!
Why didn’t we pass Line-Item-Veto for the President when we were in total control of Capital Hill? Because the lefty Repubs wanted to pad their pockets, too. Despicable.
I will support Steele, Palin and any other Conservative who will expose the pork-spenders, Democrats and Republicans alike!
Maybe this loss will force us to turn on the headlights and make the Right turns, going forward!

SO HAPPY Michael will accept the challenge
You've made my day Michael. I know you will do very well and give the Republican party some life again. I'm already energized just hearing you are bidding for Chairman. GOOD LUCK!!!
Hurray!
I couldn't be happier with this announcement! A true conservative for a change! It is interesting that some are calling Hannity and Limbaugh racists - Steele has their full support, in fact Hannity is his biggest cheerleader!
Good luck Michael - we are pulling for you here in Texas!
"New Republican Party" rings a bell with me!
A conservative old enough to remember "I Like Ike" who's thoroughly disillusioned by our latter-day Republican party, I take renewed hope in leaders like Michael Steele who are eager to share their energy, optimism, and positive plans for shaking off the governmental toxins of recent years. Let's stop reacting to Democratic socialism and the Nanny State they want to create -- it's time to get proactive and put our own Young Turks to work to remake the party. "New Republican Party" sounds a lot better to me than "Grand Old Party." I see Michael Steele as one of the pivotal movers and shakers who can restore our confidence in this great republic and give us ordinary folks courage to keep on keeping on. There's still opportunity aplenty in the USA if the government can be got out of the way! And for heaven's sake let's stop talking about racism and just get the job done.

Thank You!
Michael, Thank you for accepting the challenge to run.You have been an insightful spokesman for the Republican Party. I looked forward to hearing your input during the election campaign. Unlike any of the Democrat spokespeople, you actually answered questions directly, instead of evading them.

Thank you for stepping up
Michael,
I've been watching you for some time and am very impressed with your calm, focused, and clear presentation. You have my full support. I ask for one thing, make us proud. I'm tired of hearing about Republicans who are being investigated. We must be the party of integrity, and as our leader, I ask that you weed out those who don't measure up to those standards that Republicans hold dear.
Good luck
Win Baby, Win!!!
I would love it if Michael Steele were elected chairman of the RNC. He would be great.
