Need to start bolstering Michael's support by finding true conservatives in congress, namely, one Jim DeMint (SC) It's time for the republican party to stop coddling detractors who don't want this or don't want that to be what conservative means. Tell your local republicans to google G-O-P and if you need a refresher, do it yourself. Steele's got the chops to deliver and the passion to fight for his conservative beliefs and mine. Get the gloves on people because it will be a fight for ideas, values, and our country. Don't think battles only happen at the voting booth. It's time to start planning, building, and strategizing community-wide efforts online and in our neighborhoods. Take note on how technology catapulted a little-known Senator from Illinois into the White House. We've started with Facebook let's push it faster and farther with RSS/twitter/Youtube/Mogulus/Ustream/Flickr. Get the word out Michael. Good luck and Godspeed!

Michael looks like a strong candidate for the job! I agree the RNC needs strong, visionary leadership at this time in American history. Can you give us a summary, somewhere on this website, of what his stance is on all the major issues (immigration!, foreign policy, economy, taxes, education, healthcare, environment, etc)? It is nice to hear he has so much support but I want to know what I am supporting!

I'm on board and raring to go. let's get this party back on track. Most of America supports conservative principles and now we need the man that, like the great Reagan, can articulate these idea's.

The Republican party has lost its' way and I pray that Mr. Steele can put the party back on track. The party needs to return to and stand proudly for its core conservative values of smaller government, fiscal responsibility, and upholding the Constitution of the United States.

The party doesn't need to reach across the aisle and make concessions to liberal ideas, rather, it needs to take back the country from Socialism and return to Capitalism, the free market and PERSONAL responsibility.

If you can do this, Mr. Steele, you will undoubtedly gain the country's support, and win back those true conservatives who did not support Mr. McCain's moderate ideas and platform.

Fill the party with true conservatives (Jindal, Cantor, Palin for example) and the rest will fall into place.

Steele is a both a professional and a willing participate who DOES have the ability to coherently articulate core conservative principles.

We keep yapping about wanting someone who is capable of delivering the right message to the American electorate, and now someone with general broad support among the base has stepped up to the bat to do it.

I, for one, am willing to give the man a shot at it. Not because of the color of his skin, but because of the content of his character. The fact that he has openly stood up and jumped in right away already tells me that he is going to be proactive rather than reactive in the position.

If he makes missteps, I am sure that my fellow conservatives and myself will be there to correct and assist him back on the right path. Should he not prove himself capable of executing his duties, we shall be there to help him see the same and offer him a graceful exit (as we would anyone else in the same position).

The bottom line is that the GOP needs fresh young leadership that is committed to the RIGHT cause, and Michael Steele is probably the best guy for the job at this time. Palin needs to get her resume ready for 2012 (along with Jindal), while the incoming House and Senate Minority Leaderships *must* sync up during the lulls between Congressional sessions to work up and down the political spectrum to ensure core conservative values are applied at all levels of government while educating the American population about the merits of the same.

Some show me a better plan, and I will support it. Until then, the GOP needs Steele up front and center with the collective support of all of us who want smaller government, fiscal discipline, personal responsibility, and a country better than when we got it.

My vote goes for Steele.

Michael Steele is the man to lead this party back to the key principles that we share. I was fortunate enough to meet Michael Steele earlier this year after seeing him speak. He took pictures with us and was just really a great guy to talk too. He knows his politics and shows the leadership skills needed to turn this ship in the right direction.

Mr. Steele may be our last chance to take the RNC back from the Republicrats. Unless this party gets back to its core values (limited government, lower taxes, strong national defense), we are done. I feel strongly that Michael is our best chance to get this party back on track. We can once again be the party of Lincoln/Reagan!
